Cloutier, Sylvie

Sylvie Cloutier was born in St-Hyacinthe in 1957. Very young, she shows an interest for visual arts. At twelve years old, she takes corresponding art classes for a period of 3 months at the Famous Artist School, Westport Connecticut, United-States. It is a revelation for her and her entourage. Sylvie will have a career in arts.

She goes to Cégep and then to Concordia University and finishes her studies with a degree in arts. She then finishes a certificate to teach impression arts at l’Université du Quebec à Montréal. She continues her career in teaching and artist simultaneously. She works an esthetic of geometry and of color. She gives a force to her paintings by the collages of paper that reveal the textures like rips. We can qualify the work of Sylvie Cloutier as being poetic puzzles.
