Foreman, Nicole

Foreman, born in Montreal, was tutored in watercolors by Jean-Paul Ladouceur. The artist has held a number of solo-shows in the peaceful oasis of the Japanese Garden of the Montreal Botanical Gardens , where she also conducts classes. Former mayor Pierre Bourque, when he was director of the Gardens said: ``One of my great pleasures was to see Nicole and her students surrounded by flowers and easels``. The paintings presenting fabulous floral compositions with brillant and resonant colours is what her art is all about. Inspired when she took part in a Canada-Japanese exchange has led her in the direction of oriental art, where she also produced in her mature style a number of portraits in colouristic harmonies of dancers and actors from the Japanese stage.
