Claude Le Sauteur (1926-2007) Born in Rivière Pencôte, Quebec , he studied from 1945 to 1950 at l’École des beaux-arts, under the directions of Jean-Paul Lemieux, Jean Dallaire, and Omer Parent. Since he finished his schooling at l’École des Beaux-arts his trajectory fallows the line of landscape of Quebec painting. Implied in a social area, he participated to many benefit activities. Inspire by the region of Charlevoix, Le Sauteur paints the reconciliation of man and nature. In 1989, an exposition of work on paper is presented at the Central library of Quebec. In 1991, a retrospective of his work is presented at la Villa Bagatelle. Claude Le Sauteur participated at numerous solos and groupe expositions. He exposed his work at Ottawa national library, at Quebec national library in Montreal, at the Centre culturel canadien in Paris. He also decorated the medal of the Lutenant-Governer of Quebec and the medal of Alphonse Desjardins.
