Born in Montreal in 1972, Lydia Malinowski graduated in Fine Arts from Concordia University ( Montreal) after completing a college degree in Fine Arts at Cégep Sainte-Foy (Quebec City) .Although she has previously worked with acrylics and photography, for the past years Lydia has been using mainly watercolors and collages of Japanese paper (washi) finding in this medium a never ending pleasure.She will tell you that seeing selected colors blending and working with the magic of water is a true fascination.Lydia works in abstract and figurative. The bond between the two is in her gestural strokes expressing life, joy and serenity along with her unconventional use of watercolors.
